Nelson Restorative Justice receives provincial grant

The Nelson Police Division’s Restorative Justice program has obtained a $30,788 provincial grant for its Phoenix Venture.

This system was one in all 121 in B.C. sharing $4.3 million from the Civil Forfeiture Crime Prevention and Remediation Grant program in an announcement Wednesday from the Ministry of Public Security and Solicitor Common.

“We’re constructing safer communities by redirecting the earnings of crime into tasks that forestall gender-based and home violence, and join victims with the companies they want,” mentioned public security minister Mike Farnworth in an announcement.

The Phoenix Venture goals “to extend police, faculty and group referrals and in flip enhance program capability for profitable restorative options for colleges and the group.”
